Ann Arbor natives My Dear Disco brought the grooves, the jams and the excitement to Up Front & Company in Marquette, MI. The gravitational pull of their music filled the entire dance floor with madness and energy; a rarity at most bars and venues these days. I knew the Dance Think LP, cleaned the apartment to its rhythms, but I had no idea of the stage presence they could conjure with their music. Electric bag pipes! A Megaphone! Fantastic. Magical. Anyone who loves music and dancing can appreciate the gigantic nature of My Dear Discos live show.
Their light show coupled with the music created an intimate and collective atmosphere that was fun to watch, dance and feel part of. When I asked the band to wish my friend Phil a happy birthday they were excited to do so. Really kind people. I am proud to know that My Dear Disco is from Michigan and that I have had the chance to see them live. Being from Metro-Detroit, I am hopeful that My Dear Disco’s success in Marquette will continue to attract unique music from the state of MI to our small and wonderful community.
My Dear Disco is playing Up Front again on December 31st and all of us in the audience will catch the dance fever.
